Family Caregiver Education Events                                                 

Family Orientation - All orientations are free, however registration is required. Call 757.459.2405 to register. Classes may not be held if there are not enough registrations. Orientations are relevant for family caregivers after diagnosis through the middle stage of dementia. Each participant will receive the chapter's local resource manual, Getting Started. Family and friends of the diagnosed only, please. Orientation Schedule

Caregiver Classes -  Pre-registration is requested so that sufficient materials are available. Call 800.272.3900 or email to express interest in our programs. Class Schedule.

Support groups, including those for people with early stage Alzheimer's, are also taking place each month.

Donations for the 2016 season are due by November 30th to participate in the National Incentive Program.
All other donations for the 2016 season are due by December 15th.

Dementia Training for Healthcare Professionals

Join us for a free training specially designed for healthcare and social service professionals.
Activities: Easy as Pie Coping with Stress
Learn how to develop meaningful activities for those with Alzheimer's and related dementias and coping strategies for professional caregivers

This is Department of Social Services approved dementia training. Attendees will receive a certificate.
