Caregivers' Choice Series
Family Orientation

We offer several educational programs for families and individuals facing Alzheimer’s, as well as community members. Most of these programs, described below, are free of charge.

Caregivers' Choice Series

The Caregivers Choice Series is designed to make all presentations available in each area of the Chapter within a 6-12 month period. Each interactive program is 45 minutes. Following a break for refreshments, a representative from the local community presents information on a related topic. All classes are free of charge but registration is required.

Family Orientation

Orientation sessions for families of recently diagnosed individuals are available each month. Orientations cover a variety of nformation including and overview of Alzheimer's disease, first steps to take after receiving a diagnosis and helpful community resources.

All orientations are FREE, but registration is required.

EASTERN SHORE
When: The 2nd  Thursday of each month.
Where: Eastern Shore Branch office from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

FRANKLIN/SMITHFIELD
When: By appointment only.
Where: Franklin Branch office or the Smithfield Library.

HAMPTON
When: The 3rd Tuesday of each month
Where: Sentara Careplex (York River Entrance), 3000 Coliseum Drive, from 5:30-7 p.m.

When: The 2nd Wednesday of each month from 9:30 -11 a.m.
OR 3rd Tuesday of each month from 5:30 -7 p.m.
