Volunteering - We need YOU!
We have volunteer committees within each community for each walk! If you are interested in offering your time and talents either on the day of the walk or during the planning process, we hope you will consider joining our walk steering committees and becoming a volunteer. Time commitments are roughly 2-4 hours a month increasing to 5-8 hours a week closer to walk day. Committees meet once a month, February to November of current walk season to strategize meeting event fundraising benchmarks. Our biggest need: City Champions! Help spread the word within your own community about Walk. These volunteers will work under the Team Recruitment Sub-committee. Volunteer description of City Champion.

Sponsorship - LEAD THE WAY AT WORK

It only takes one person to make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer's disease---and that person could be you! We offer Walk to End Alzheimer's sponsors a broad range of benefits, including opportunities for cross promotions, team building and association of your brand with America's number one voluntary health organization dedicated to ending Alzheimer's. Through our partnerships with local businesses and corporate sponsorships we are able to fund critical care services and programs that help individuals with Alzheimer's and their families. If you are interested in becoming a 2013 Walk Sponsor or a year round Corporate Sponsor, please contact Gino Colombara, President/CEO at gino.colombara@alz.org or 757.459.2405. How to Participate
Forming a team can enhance your experience and multiply your impact in the fight against Alzheimer's. Together, as a team you are a force much greater than what you can accomplish alone.

What is a team? We're glad you asked. A team is a group of 2-10 registered walkers. A team can consist of: families, friends, co-workers, club or organization members from a university or college, school groups and more! If you have questions about forming a team and how to get started, contact us and we will be happy to help.
Team Captain - Team captains play an important role in walks, serving as a liaison between their team and the Alzheimer's Association. The Team Captain is responsible for forming a team and recruiting team members, setting fundraising goals and teaching team members how to be fundraisers. He or she informs team members of important dates and procedures and organizes the team on walk day. Team sizes vary greatly from 2 walkers to 100 walkers, but the average team consists of 10 walkers.
Team Member - The captain serves as liaison for the team, but it is the duty of each team member to help reach the team's fundraising goals and help with team member recruitment. To register yourself or new member visit the registration page of your Walk of choice. Please be sure that your team captain has registered first and you know your team name. Teams looking for members from the public will have a hand icon next to their team name on the front page of the registration site.
Individual Walker - These are participants who are not on a team and have elected to become a fundraiser on their own.
