Caregiver Support Groups
We have many support groups that meet monthly at various times and locations throughout the region. Groups are open to all adults free of charge. We urge you attend regularly. You may also benefit from attending more than one group. View or print a list of available groups by clicking on the link below. Please call the facilitator listed before attending to confirm meeting time and location.
Early Stage Support Goups
Individuals who have been diagnosed with early stage Alzheimer's or another form of dementia are invited to attend special support groups designed to meet their needs. Family care partners may accompany them as well for the first part of the meeting, and then each group holds their own separate sesson for approximately one hour. Call the 24/7 Helpline at 800.272.3900 for more information.
Bilingual Support Groups
As part of the expanded Multicultural Outreach Program, the chapter now offers several Bilingual Support Groups in collaboration with other community partners. Staffed by bilingual facilitators, the groups allow participants to dialogue in Spanish or English, according to their preference. Contact Virginia Zerpa at firstname.lastname@example.org or 414.479.8800 or for more information. Spanish speaking individuals please call 414.431.8811.
All-female and All-male Support Groups
Some caregivers may prefer to attend a Support Group limited to all men or all women. One all-female group meets in Milwaukee. The support group for men meets every 4th Thursday at the Alzheimer's Association's office.
The Alzheimer’s Association message boards and chat rooms provide a virtual online community for persons with Alzheimer's, caregivers and care providers. Our message boards have thousands of registered members from around the United States and thousands more who refer to the stories and information that is available 24 hours a day.
