About Memory Walk

The Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk® is our national signature event and brings together family, friends, caregivers and concerned community members — who all want to make a difference. Since 1989, Memory Walk has raised more than $200 million to help those battling Alzheimer's disease.

Choose a Walk Near You

Choose from a walk below to register or to support a walker.

  • Northwest Memory Walk: Saturday morning, September 26, 9 a.m. registration, 10 a.m. Walk, at the Good Samaritan Care Center in George, IA.
  • Iowa Lakes Memory Walk: Sunday, Oct. 11, 1 p.m. registration, Walk at 2:00 p.m. at Spirit Lake Senior Center, in Spirit Lake, IA.

Start a team

Forming a team for the Memory Walk can enhance your experience and multiply your impact on the fight against Alzheimer's. Together, as a team, you are a force much greater than what you can accomplish alone.

Team recruitment and event planning for Memory Walk 2009 is already underway.  If you want to start your own team or join the planning committee, contact:

  • Eukie Okwumuo  for general questions or if you're in Siouxland, Northeast Nebraska, South Dakota, Plymouth and Cherokee counties.
