Greater Siouxland Memory Walk

June 10 - Terra Centre, Downtown Sioux City

Several hundred greater Siouxland residents took steps to help end Alzheimer’s disease throughout downtown Sioux City at the annual Alzheimer’s Association’s Memory Walk, raising more than $36,500 through twenty-one fundraising teams or as individuals.

Family team prize: Grandpa’s Gang
Corporate team prize: Oakleaf Property Management
Most spirited team: Kelly’s Stretch & Flex

Health Care Challenge: 1) Sunrise Retirement Community, 2) Bickford Cottage I/II, 3) Pleasant View Care Center

Youth individual: Katie Fox
Senior individual: Jerry Snodgrass

Southwest Memory Walk

September 9 - Southside Park, Carroll

Carroll, Crawford, Sac and Ida County residents took steps to help end Alzheimer’s disease at Carroll’s Southside Park at the annual Alzheimer’s Association’s Memory Walk, raising more than $20,400.  All money raised through Memory Walk will go to support services of the Alzheimer’s Association throughout the four-county area, provided by the Association’s branch office in Carroll.

Northwest Memory Walk

September 23 - Prairie View Campus, Sanborn

Sioux, O’Brien, Osceola and Lyon County residents took steps to help end Alzheimer’s disease at Sanborn’s Prairie View Campus, as the Alzheimer’s Association’s 2006 Northwest Memory Walk raised more than $21,700.  All proceeds raised through Memory Walk will go to support services of the Alzheimer’s Association throughout the four-county area, provided by the Association’s branch office in Sheldon.

Great Lakes Memory Walk

October 14 - Regional Wellness Center, Estherville

Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, and Palo Alto County residents took steps to help end Alzheimer’s disease at the Regional Wellness Center in Estherville, as the Alzheimer’s Association’s 2006 Great Lakes Memory Walk raised more than $25,000—over $10,000 more than the $15,000 volunteer planners were hoping for.  All proceeds raised through Memory Walk will go to support services of the Alzheimer’s Association throughout the four-county area, provided by the Association’s branch office in Sheldon.
