You can make it happen…
a world without
Alzheimer's disease

You can make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer's and related dementias just by giving a few hours of time. In fact, volunteers are the lifeblood of the Alzheimer's Association. Some 35,000 volunteers nationwide work with us to achieve our vision of a world without Alzheimer's disease while optimizing quality of life for people who are affected by Alzheimer's disease. Whether you can volunteer a couple of hours a week or make a more significant time commitment, we hope you will consider joining this very special community.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact Deborah O’Connor by emailing doconnor@alz.org.

Ways to volunteer

Administrative support
As a member of the administrative team, you’ll help input data, update resources and referrals, organize and prepare materials for conferences, special events and Helpline packets, and aid in the overall workflow of a chapter office. This encompasses making copies, organizing mailings, data entry and more. We offer weekday opportunities with a minimum commitment of four hours per week.

Speaker’s Bureau

Represent and promote the Alzheimer’s Association through presentations and at events. Presentations can range from as little as three minutes to full two-hour trainings. Speaker's Bureau volunteers may also distribute information and brochures at health fairs and employee giving drives. These volunteers need access to reliable transportation and should be willing and able to travel in local areas.

Information table

Promote Alzheimer’s awareness and education at health fairs, conferences and community events. Staff exhibit tables, distribute information and answer basic questions about chapter services.

Patient care and family support
Make a difference by working with support groups, assisting with resource information research and database management, and/or providing information and referrals via telephone and email. Our programs department provides resources, support and clinical consultation to those affected by Alzheimer’s, families and professionals.

Walk to End Alzheimer's

Do you want to be part of the largest movement against Alzheimer’s disease in the country? Volunteer with Walk to End Alzheimer’s as a member of our volunteer committee and you’ll help plan and execute the event, assisting with anything from publicity and team recruitment to logistics and securing sponsorship. Or, be a part of the team of volunteers that makes the walk happen on the day of the event, from setup to tear down!
