Administrative Assistant Volunteer The Administrative Assistant volunteer assists with general office and clerical tasks to assure our office runs smoothly and accurately. The administrative assistant volunteer assists with computer tasks, makes copies, completes forms, assembles packets, completes mailings, helps with typing and data entry, and much more.
The Administrative Assistant volunteer reports to a staff coordinator within a department.
Responsibilities :
• Complete volunteer application, confidentiality policy, and other paperwork as required by the Alzheimer's Association.
• Complete forms as needed
• Help gather projects for other volunteers to complete
• File assorted items in various areas of office
• Handwrite cards or other notes as needed
• Typing
• Light data entry
• Assist with photocopying
• Help with any general office or clerical tasks as needed
Qualifications :
• Experienced with using computers
• Able to type and/or enter data
• Organized
• Detail oriented
• Good handwriting
• Works well with others
• Willing to follow a regular schedule or contact Alzheimer's Association in case of changes
• Understanding of the Chapter’s mission and programs
• Full understanding and compliance with confidentiality policy
• Completion of Volunteer Basic Training within 90 days of start date
• The Alzheimer’s Association depends heavily on contributions from individuals, and encourages all volunteers to give an annual gift to further our mission.
Time Commitment : Usually 3-4 hours a week on a mutally agreed upon set day per week. Position is offered during regular business hours of Monday 9-8pm and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9-5pm. Alternate schedules can be considered such as every other week, or once a month.
