If you like planning special events, then this position is for you. The Memory Walk team at the Alzheimer's Association is currently seeking fun, energetic, and dedicated committee members to help grow participation at a walks in your area. We have five local walks that are seeking your support. Locations include St. Louis, Southeast Missouri, St. Charles County, Franklin County, and Collinsville, Illinois. 

Responsibilities:
Select a subcommittee to join and work with fellow members to achieve committee goals such as promoting Memory Walk, recruiting walkers and teams of walkers, planning logistics for the walk, soliciting corporate sponsorships, assisting with post-walk wrap up and prize distribution, and helping to launch "Memory Walk In Schools." Committee members also attend the walk (held in Setember) to mingle with walkers and help promote the association.

Qualifications:
• Willingness to make phone calls and connections with local contacts
• Assist in making logistical arrangements
• Knowledge of businesses and services available to support the event in your local area
• Ability to attend committee meetings or meet with committee chair in case of absense
• Work on projects independently until completion
• Experience in event planning is helpful but not required.
• Professionalism
• Self-starter or self-motivated  

Time commitment: 3 hours per month January - July with perhaps 6 per month in the peak times of August and September. Post-Walk committe starts later and goes until early December.
