Alzheimer’s Association of St. Louis
Outreach Department
Outreach Ambassador Coordinator Volunteer

The Outreach Ambassador Coordinator leads logistics and follow-up for the Outreach Ambassador program. Outreach Ambassadors are volunteers working in their local communities throughout our 38-county service area to spread news and awareness of Alzheimer's disease and Alzheimer's Association programs. Because these volunteers live so far away, the ambassador coordinator provides a steady, ongoing source of contact with the Alzheimer's Association.

The Outreach Ambassador Coordinator answers questions about upcoming Alzheimer's Association programs, performs monthly check-ins, and sends out fresh materials as needed for distribution.

The Outreach Ambassador Coordinator reports to the Outreach Coordinator.

Responsibilities:
• Perform monthly contact calls to check on ambassadors and make sure they are feeling satisfied in their role, connected to the Alzheimer's Association, knowledgeable about upcoming programs and events, and that they have adequate materials to drop off in their area.
• Assist with volunteer training for new outreach ambassadors.
• Help develop quarterly themes and action steps for ambassadors to use when they make their visits
• Assist with the reporting and tracking of ambassador visits.
• In general, foster strong relationships with these volunteers who may not often reach our St. Louis area. Help them feel appreciated, supported, valued, and informed.
• Complete volunteer application, confidentiality policy, and other paperwork as required.
• Keep current on information pertaining to AD and the association through website, research sessions, trainings, and the quarterly Volunteer Update.
• Attend at least one continuing education opportunity per year.

Qualifications:
• Ability to make friends and foster relationships over the phone.
• Organized with good attention to detail.
• Willingness to manage a project and accept an on-going leadership role.
• Knowledge of the Alzheimer’s Association (training provided) and AD.
• Understanding of the Chapter’s mission and programs.
• Full understanding and compliance with confidentiality policy.
• Completion of Volunteer Basic Training within 90 days of start date.

The Alzheimer’s Association depends heavily on contributions from individuals, and encourages all volunteers to give an annual gift to further our mission.

Time Commitment:
Time and location of service are negotiable. Some work can take
place in our chapter offices (your choice of Olivette, Missouri; Cape Girardeau, Missouri; or Collinsville, IL). Other projects, such as telephone calls, can be done from home.

We imagine the monthly commitment being about 6 hours.
