Department of Communications and Development Communications and Journalism Internship The Communications and Journalism Intern position is designed to provide support for the Communications Coordinator as well a well-rounded and practical hands-on educational experience for the student. The internship can be done for university credit (through career services) or for resume experience, and is unpaid. Responsibilities: • Complete volunteer application, confidentiality policy, and other paperwork as required by the Alzheimer's Association. • Help with assorted ongoing projects including: writing and distributing press releases, researching, interviewing, and writing for newsletter articles, proofreading, and searching websites for Alzheimer related articles. • Help compile detailed local media contact list that we will use now and in the future. Qualifications: • Highly organized and detail oriented • Junior or senior-level undergraduate or graduate student in communications and/ or journalism • Writing and proofreading experience needed • Understanding of the Chapter’s mission and programs • Full understanding and compliance with confidentiality policy • Completion of Volunteer Basic Training within 90 days of start date Time Commitment: Hours are flexible and negotiable.
