St. Louis Alzheimer's Association - Job Description Family Services/Safe Return Safe Return Outreach Intern The Safe Return Outreach Intern helps the Family Services and Education Coordinator in reaching out to the community to promote registration in the Safe Return program, educate about wandering and home safety, and increase awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and the programs and services available through the St. Louis chapter. The internship can be done for university credit (through career services) or for resume experience, and is unpaid. The Safe Return Outreach Intern reports to the Family Services Coordinator/Safe Return Coordinator. Responsibilities: • Make outreach visits to community providers to market the Safe Return program. • Visits may include (but are not limited to) nursing homes, adult day programs, senior centers, law enforcement departments, hospitals, churches, city halls, and health fairs. Qualifications: • Have own transportation available. • Complete Safe Return Outreach training. (Provided by Staff) • Complete volunteer application, confidentiality policy, and other paperwork as required by the Alzheimer’s Association. • Understanding of the Chapter’s mission and programs. • Full understanding and compliance with confidentiality policy. • Completion of Volunteer Basic Training within 90 days of start date. Time Commitment: Hours are flexible and negotiable. Minimum of one semester commitment required. Application Deadlines: Please submit resume and cover letter.
