Helping families cope and plan for the future

The Alzheimer's Association, St. Louis Chapter, can provide a care consultation in two ways: either in our office or in the home of the person with dementia.

In the Office
Meet with a professional, master level staff member who has years of experience specific to dementia to discuss your concerns. We offer personalized assistance to help your family find solutions. We will provide information and help to address:

 
• disease progression
• coping techniques
• management of behavior issues
• care options
• other issues that are important to you in
   being the best caregiver/care recipient
   possible

Care Consultation with the Alzheimer's
Association offers personalized
assistance, and can be of benefit at
any point in the progression of dementia.

In Your Loved One's Home
Meet with a professional, master level staff member who has years of experience specific to dementia to determine how to provide the safest environment and the best care for your loved one with memory impairment, as well as help reduce your caregiver stress. We will provide information and help to address:

• how to keep your loved one safely at home for as long as possible
• safety concerns and how to minimize potential hazards
• help in recognizing when home care is no longer safe or appropriate
• assistance in identifying treatment options
• tips about caregiver stress and depression
• impartial and objective help in decision making

2-hour visit in your loved one’s home (within a limited geographic area) : develop an action plan that incorporates formal and informal support

Modest Fees are Charged. Scholarships are available.
