2012 Priorities
We will urge the General Assembly to support the following issues in Missouri and Illinois:
Missouri Priorities
– Advocate for continued funding for Alzheimer's Service Grants that provide respite care assistance to individuals and families across the state.
– Support the recommendations of the Alzheimer's State Plan Task Force charged with addressing the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease both now and for future generations.
– Advocate for passage of legislation calling for a National Background Check Program for direct patient access employees in long term care settings.
Illinois Priorities
– Access the dementia capability of existing programs and services as called for in the Illinois Alzheimer’s Disease State Plan.
– Encourage Alzheimer’s disease data collection and utilization of the data.
– Preserve access to Medicaid coverage for people with Alzheimer’s disease.
