Dementia Friendly Hospital Initiative (DFHI): Care Not Crisis

This nationally recognized program provides education and community partnership to hospital staff to improve care for people with dementia and involve their families in the acute care setting. Past funding has been received from The Retirement Research Foundation and The Practice Change Fellowship supported by The John A. Hartford and The Atlantic Philanthropies Foundations.

The DFHI education program fosters best care approaches and practice changes that result in "dementia friendly care" in hospital settings. DFHI addresses acute care staff's dementia specific awareness, as well as the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors that most affect adverse outcomes and enhance  quality of care.

For the most recent schedule of upcoming classes or if you have questions about this program, or would like to host this program for your employees, please contact Maggie Murphy-White, MA Hospital Initiative Coordinator at maggie.murphy-white@alz.org or  800.272.3900.
