Activity Based Alzheimer's Care
The objectives of this program are: Learning the fundamental components of Activity based Alzheimer's care, effectively examine assessment and care planning, learn to adapt activities and the environment to better meet individual's needs. Identify and implement the various aspects of teamwork. NCCAP accreditation approved.

Foundations of dementia care
Foundations of Dementia Care (FDC) is a professional training and education program based on the Dementia Care Practice recommendations of the Alzheimer’s Association Quality Care Campaign and meets all the training requirements in accordance with Missouri House Bill 603.
The Alzheimer’s Association will conduct a Foundations of Dementia Care workshop focusing on:
• Dementia Basics
• Improving Communications
• Understanding Behavior
• Making Connections
• End of Life Care – Emotional and Spiritual Support
The FDC training program is field tested to help your staff achieve longer lasting, more consistent results. Long term care staff will learn essential skills for dementia care through role playing exercises and lively discussions using realistic film clips and case studies. The Alzheimer’s Association dementia care training:
• Provides an understanding of dementia and individual resident needs
• Builds skills from simple techniques using body language, tone of voice, and physical stance to more advanced skills such as recognizing and reporting pain.
This 6 hour, $400 course will be offered for $100 per person.
