Online Training

The Alzheimer’s Association Training and Education center offers a number of Alzheimer’s and dementia courses available online, 24 hours a day.

Training topics include:

ALZ 101

Join the Alzheimer's Association for a brief orientation to learn about the basics of dementia and the programs and services the Association offers in Galveston County and the surrounding areas. We will also share how you can take action today to help end Alzheimer's through advocacy, raising awareness, assisting in research, and by fundraising at special events.

The Basics

The Alzheimer’s Association’s The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease program.
This program is designed to provide you with the basic information that everyone needs to know about memory loss issues and what they mean for all of us.

This program is always available for free online at http://training.alz.org/

First Responder Training

The Alzheimer’s disease epidemic continues to grow. As a first responder, it’s critical to understanding how to best approach situations involving someone with Alzheimer’s disease. First responders will learn the basics of Alzheimer's disease and related dementia, communication tips, and issues to be aware of such as wandering, driving, shoplifting, and firearms. Make your first response the right response!
