The Senior Morning Out Club is a program designed for seniors living with memory loss, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and/or those needing a social experience out of the home.
Research indicates that keeping the mind stimulated slows the disease process. The Morning Out Club is structured with this in mind. The time spent at the club follows a predictable yet fulfilling format complete with music, exercise, trivia, and games. In addition, we plan intergenerational activities. Some of our most rewarding time is spent doing community service projects like making cards for Meals on Wheels, filling lunch sacks for the homeless, and making teacher appreciation gifts for local elementary schools.
In addition to providing a meaningful day for the participant, the caregiver is receiving the respite time they need. Caregivers run errands and attend to personal matters while having the peace of mind that their loved one is doing something beneficial during those four hours.
The Senior Morning Out Club meets every Thursday from 9:30a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church at 3430 Harrison, Beaumont, TX 77706. Space is limited. For more infromtion, contact Melanie Hall, at 409.892.8121 ext. 115 or by email at melanie@trinitybmt.org.
