Safe Return®Alzheimer's Association Safe Return® is a nationwide identification, support and enrollment program that provides assistance when someone with Alzheimer's or a related dementia wanders and becomes lost. Assistance is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If an enrollee is missing, one phone call immediately activates a community support network to help reunite the lost person with his or her caregiver.
It’s a fact: six out of ten people with Alzheimer’s disease will wander and risk serious injury or worse. The Alzheimer’s Association Safe Return® program in partnership with MedicAlert helps protect the people we love. It's simple: Caregivers call the hotline, and law enforcement is notified as well as others in the community. The program also provides vital medical history needed to treat the person who may not be able to communicate the information. It helps save lives. Of those reported missing, 99 percent wearing the ID bracelet or necklace are found within 24 hours. For safety and peace of mind, enroll in Safe Return. Contact the Alzheimer's Association at 865.544.6288 to enroll today.
