KUED, The City Library and the Alzheimer's Association are partnering together to bring you a screening of the film The Genius of Marian on Thursday, September 4, 2014, from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the City Library, 210 East 400 South, SLC, UT.
Please join KUED, The City Library and the Alzheimer’s Association for a special event to honor Utahns affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. The Genius of Marian is a visually rich, emotionally complex story about one family’s struggle to come to terms with Alzheimer’s disease and is the Official Selection of the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival.
Learn about diagnosis, care and the resources available through from our vendors and hear Richard King, M.D., Ph.D. from the Center of Alzheimer’ s Care, Imaging and Research discuss early diagnosis, the warning signs and the latest research.
FORGET ME KNOT ART INSTALLATION
You are also invited to participate in building an art installation to raise awareness for the thousands of Utahns affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Individuals will be asked to write how Alzheimer's has affected them on purple ribbons attached to a section of a grid. Once completed, this art installation will be exhibited at different locations throughout Salt Lake City for the next few months.
