Our history

The Utah Chapter of the Alzheimer's Disease & Related Disorders Association (a.k.a. Alzheimer's Association, Utah Chapter) began as a family support group in February 1982. In December 1983, the members of the Association selected a Board of Directors and became officially incorporated in the State of Utah as a nonprofit organization and affiliated as a local chapter of the national Alzheimer’s Association.
Quarterly, the Utah Chapter receives approximately 200 “helpline” calls and provides approximately 100 care consultations.  80% of the most critical need is respite. On an annual basis we serve approximately 7000 individuals who have been touched by Alzheimer’s in once capacity or another.
