1. Use the FB app.
Click the Fundraise with Facebook button in your Walk HQ to download the Boundless Fundraising Application.
2. Get the word out.
The Get the Word Out feature allows you to choose a status update to post on Facebook. By using this feature, your Facebook friends can donate directly to your profile page by clicking on the "Alzheimer's Association" link above the message.
3. Tell a story.
Why are you participating in Walk? Use the Share Your Story feature to tell your friends why this is important to you, and why you need their support. Make it personal.
4. Your picture says a thousand words.
Use the donate your profile picture tool to change your current profile picture to the Walk to End Alzheimer's logo. This is a great way to show your commitment to the cause, and when you use the tool, a news feed update is delivered to all your friends with a link that leads them back to your profile page.
5. Brush up on your Emily Post.
Manners are everything. If someone donates to you, thank them publicly through social media and be sure to add a link to your personal web page to every thank you message. Combine this tactic with number 6 to make it more interactive and visible!
6. What's an @?
Use it to tag your friends on Facebook or Twitter. Type @ in front of someone's name in your status update and your post will be visible – drawing more eyes to your message.
7. Sharing is caring.
Share one of our Walk to End Alzheimer's videos with your Facebook friends to recruit and/or solicit donations. Be sure to add a link to your personal page so your friends can easily make a donation to your site after watching the video.
8. Make it a challenge.
Set a lofty goal for yourself, and let everyone know what it is. Tell them they're the only ones who can help you reach that goal. Give them something to care about.
9. Become a fan.
Join us on Facebook, & follow us on Twitter. You'll get news and meet other people with ideas on Walk fundraising.
10. Have fun!
Raising money and participating in Walk to End Alzheimer's is fun. At the end of the day, feel good about what you're doing for the cause.
