These are the official fundraising and awareness programs of the Alzheimer's Association:

The Longest Day

We've set aside the longest day of the year, June 21, to honor the strength of all those facing Alzheimer's with a fundraising and awareness event you can organize with friends and families. From sunrise to sunset, you are encouraged to do something you love--gardening, walking, reading, cooking, biking, hiking, etc--to honor someone you love! You can organize your event like a relay and 'hand off' the challenge very hour, or every few hours, or however you want to handle it! To learn more and to register, CLICK HERE!

Walk to End Alzheimer's

The Chapter organizes six community walks that are vital to sustaining our programs and services.
In the Fall of 2014, six Walks raised more than $500,000 for the WNY Chapter--funds that will be used to continue to provide vital programs across eight counties and to support research that will one day end this disease!

Be sure to check back in early 2015 when we will have details on the Walk schedule for the Fall at:
Chautauqua Institution
Orleans County - Canal Basin Park
Buffalo - Delaware Park behind the Zoo (FREE Zoo admission after the Walk!)
Genesee County - County Nursing Home in Batavia
Niagara County - Artpark in Lewiston
Wyoming County - Village Park in Warsaw

Blondes vs. Brunettes

Young professional women from our community will be hitting the football field in September for a flag flootball game that aims to raise funds and awareness of Alzheimer's disease and the Alzheimer's Association, WNY Chapter. There are so many ways to get involved in the event - volunteer, play, coach, ref. Find out more at or follow the teams on Facebook -

Join Team AlzStars!

Are you running, biking, or swimming in an upcoming race and want to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's, such as the Buffalo Marathon? If so, call us at 1.800.272.3900 to find out how you can get your own Team AlzStars fundraising page.

Hold your own fundraiser to benefit the Alzheimer's Association!

It is easy to raise money for a good cause through simple things like: parties at which you encourage guests to make a donation at the door; sponsor a "Casual for a Cause" day at work--ask your employer if you can raise funds by allowing a dress down day at the office; organize a football party to "Tackle Alzheimer's" and sell football squares to benefit our Chapter. If you are planning your own fundraising event, let us know--we can offer some great tips to make it a success!

For more information about participating in or sponsoring one of our events, please call the chapter at 1.800.272.3900.
