Alzheimer's Association CareSource

On November 1, the Association launched this new suite of tools to assist people with dementia and their families with decisions related to care planning called CareSource. It's home to several helpful applications including:

  • Senior Housing Finder, the most current and comprehensive web-based senior housing resource and listing service in the United States. It allows users to search a current list of licensed assisted living residences, nursing homes and other types of senior housing to find licensed facilities in their area.
  • Lotsa Helping Hands, an easy-to-use, private group calendar, specifically designed for organizing helpers, where everyone can pitch in with respite care, meals, rides and other tasks necessary for life to run smoothly while caring for a loved one with dementia who lives at home. It’s also a place to keep these ‘circles of community’ informed with status updates, photo galleries, message boards and more.
  • CareFinder, launched by the Association in 2006 to help users get guidance and information on all types of dementia care and find out what kind will best fit their needs. Updated and relocated to the CareSource suite, CareFinder provides a wide array of information regarding care planning, financing and decision-making.

CareSource is also the new home of the Association’s message boards for caregivers and the portal to a list of care-related resources Web visitors may purchase for their home libraries.
