Please review the following definitions to determine which registration category you should select for AAIC 2018.

Current members of the Alzheimer's Association International Society to Advance Research and Treatment (ISTAART) a professional society for individuals interested in Alzheimer's and dementia science.


Membership +PLUS

Individuals who wish to purchase one year of ISTAART membership in addition to AAIC registration qualify. Valid for New ISTAART members only.


Non-Member

Anyone who is not an ISTAART member.


The Founders Society

An honorary society created by the Alzheimer's Association to recognize and thank those who make a bequest or lifetime gifts.


The Alois Society

Our members whose annual leadership gifts are making a difference in our goal to create a world without Alzheimer's. Annual giving must exceed $2,500 for membership.


Chapter or Home Office Staff

Chapter staff are personnel employed at an Alzheimer's Association chapter that is affiliated with the national Alzheimer's Association, providing programs and services in that community. You must work for the Alzheimer's Association to qualify.


Full Conference

Includes the Welcome Reception, access to the Exhibit Hall and all sessions. The Full Conference does not include any preconferences (Alzheimer's Imaging Consortium, Technology and Dementia Preconference, educational workshops, etc.)

Government Agency

Individuals who are currently employed by any United States government agency are eligible to attend AAIC at a discounted rate. Federal government employee identification is required. Group of 10 or more

Great for exhibitors and sponsors! To qualify, you must be part of a group of 10 or more people who belong to the same company or organization and are not students. Groups must register at the same time to receive the discount.

This session held on Saturday, July 21, 8 a.m. − 5:15 p.m., focuses on the clinical applications and methodological development of neuroimaging (MRI, PET, SPECT, CT and others) to Alzheimer's disease, other dementias and normal brain aging. Admission to the Alzheimer's Imaging Consortium is not included with the AAIC Full Conference fee.


This preconference held on Saturday, July 21, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. brings together researchers in the technological field working to improve the standard of living for all those affected by Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. Admission to the Technology and Dementia preconference is not included with the AAIC Full Conference fee.


This workshop will be held Friday, July 20 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. The purpose of this multimodal neuroimaging workshop is to provide an in-depth understanding of the fundamental principles, inherent limitations, and clinical and research applications of the most prominent neuroimaging modalities in the dementia field. Admission to this workshop is not included with the AAIC Full Conference fee.


Held Friday, July 20 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., this workshop will provide research investigators, clinicians, residents, fellows, graduate and postgraduate students with an in-depth understanding of the fundamental principles, inherent limitations and clinical and research applications of the most common biomarkers used in Alzheimer's disease (AD) and found in Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and blood. This workshop will include the fundamentals of CSF physiology, basics of neurochemistry, technical issues of sample collection, storage, analysis methods, quality control and regulatory issues. It will also cover the latest in cutting edge biomarker technology including blood-based biomarkers with the current understanding of how biomarkers track the progression in AD and their use in other dementias. Lectures will be followed by interactive sessions to ensure that participants gain in depth understanding of the proper use of fluid biomarkers.


This workshop will be held Friday, July 20 from 8 – 5 p.m. and will cover contemporary issues in clinical trials, which aid clinicians in selecting cost-effective trial designs. The workshop will cover: 1) adaptive trial designs 2) simulation and study enrichment 3) categorical vs. continuous-time analysis models 4) delayed start design. For each topic, lectures will start with a n overview of basic concepts, followed by more advanced topics, using practical examples. The targeted audience is clinicians and statisticians. The workshop will utilize some programming languages, but the aim is for clinicians to deepen conceptual understanding, as well as to provide statisticians with available resources.

Continuing Education

AAIC 2018 Continuing Education (CE) – Continuing Education credits are available for physicians, nurses, psychologists and social workers for an additional fee.

Alzheimer’s Association Cancellation Policy

Refund requests must be received by June 15, 2018. A receipt of your registration is required for the cancellation request to be processed. After June 15, no refunds will be issued for cancellations of any type, including no-shows. All refunds will be subject to a $100 USD administrative fee. Email requests to AAIC@experient-inc.com.

Child Policy

Only those aged 18 and older are able to enter session rooms, receptions or the Exhibit Hall due to the sensitivity of presentations and for the courtesy of other attendees. Please keep these age requirements in mind when planning your trip. If you require daycare, please inquire with your hotel concierge or contact American Child Care, 312.644.7300.

For nursing mothers, Room 182 in the convention center has been reserved for your privacy throughout the conference. The room will be available during the duration of the conference. The room will be equipped with chairs and tables in private areas for changing diapers or nursing, as well as electricity and a water cooler (room temperature) and refrigeration. Parents and guardians are responsible for providing infant care supplies. The infant care room will be unsupervised. AAIC will not be responsible for accidents or injuries that may occur in this room.
