Mikaela Louie is an attorney at Foster Garvey PC, specializing in health law. Her practice is devoted to helping hospitals and health care providers on a wide range of matters, including regulatory compliance, health information privacy, data security, contracting, licensing, governance, certificates of need and related litigation.

Prior to joining Foster Garvey, Louie was a judicial extern for Justice Mary I. Yu of the Washington State Supreme Court. She also worked as a consultant and trainer on issues related to language access and health equity for a variety of health care institutions before law school. 

Louie served on the Association’s Washington State chapter board from 2014-2021. During that time, she served as the chapter board’s chair and led the board diversity, equity, and inclusion committee. 

Louie received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her J.D. from the University of Washington.

Louie was elected to the board of directors in 2022.
