Michelle Helton, CPA, is chief financial officer of the Alzheimer’s Association. In this role, she oversees all financial operations, including outside audit, budgeting, financial reporting and compliance, post-award compliance, disbursements, receipts, metrics, measurement and analytics.
Helton has held various leadership positions within the Finance department since she joined the Association in 1999. Throughout her tenure, she has led the integration of a new accounting system, provided back office accounting assistance for the Association’s nationwide network of chapters, and merged the financial operations of 47 independent chapters into a single, unified organization. She has also served on several workgroups and task forces, including the Structure Operational Task Force, the Finance Work Group and the Operations Task Force.
Prior to joining the Association, Helton was a senior consultant at Ernst & Young. She holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Indiana University.
