Summit County Public Health and Alzheimer’s Association Release Brief Highlighting Local Figures & Risk Factors of Alzheimer’s Disease

June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, an initiative through which the Alzheimer’s Association seeks to start conversations nationwide around the importance of early detection and diagnosis. Locally, the Greater East Ohio Area Chapter has collaborated with Summit County Public Health to draw attention to Alzheimer’s disease—the sixth leading cause of death in Ohio and the U.S.—by compiling county and cluster-level information on risk factors and prevalence for professionals and the residents of Summit County.

Alzheimer's Association

The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. Our vision is a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia.™ For more information, visit www.alz.org or call the 24/7 Helpline at 800.272.3900.
