Manager of Human Resources and Administration

Essential Job Functions

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Administers employee benefits and serves as the primary contact for management and staff questions on all employee benefits.
2. Assists managers with the recruiting process including managing, creating, and posting vacancy notices, updating job descriptions, screening candidates, and interviewing and processing offers of employment.
3. Interprets and advises management and staff on chapter policies and procedures, updates policies and procedures as needed, and ensures employee human resource manual is current and complete.
4. Develops and delivers new employee orientation.
5. Assists in the administration of performance management.
6. Coordinates staff trainings, monthly staff meetings, and other events for employees.
7. Handles employee relation issues including disciplinary action, investigations, and unemployment claims.
8. Reviews time and expense sheets, verifies payroll, insurance, 403B plans, and other deductions.
9. Interfaces with the Internal Affairs Committee and the Executive Compensation Committee as needed.
10. Interfaces with the information technology consultant while planning for and responding to staff technology issues.
11. Staffs Information Technology Committee and assists in planning and budgeting for information technology needs.
12. Coordinates staff training on use of computer, server, other technology, and general software systems used by all employees with support from information technology consultant, national office, and other sources.
13. Maintains inventory of all computers and electronic equipment, maintains schedule for workstation replacements and upgrades, and researches and makes necessary purchases.

Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Human Resource Information System software, Microsoft Office software, database software, and Internet software.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Specialized
Training: Three years of human resource experience preferred Experience working in the non-profit sector
Certificates and Licenses: Professional in Human Resources or Senior Professional in Human Resource certification preferred
Equipment: Facsimile machine, Telephone,Photocopier, Audio visual equipment 
Computer Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities: • Interpersonal communication skills, Oral and written communication skills, Organizational skills, Detail oriented, Self-initiator, Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, Computer literacy, Database management skills
