Associate Director, Digital Marketing

General Summary

The Associate Director of Digital Marketing will execute the creative production of e-mail communications within the Direct Marketing Department, with strategic input throughout the development process. This position executes the continuity efforts against overarching creative strategies as specifically relevant to branding guidelines within the Association.  The Associate Director helps manage the digital schedule and audience selects from a donor-centered perspective.

Essential Job Functions

Manage email design , audience selects, donation forms and scheduling for multi-track email campaigns across DM and additional Association Digital needs.
- Work with internal staff and vendors to create superior and original email designs, constantly evaluating and making changes to layout to bring cohesiveness to the email program. 
- Shares responsibility with Designer in preparing creative files in Dreamweaver, writing the HTML code, then loading into Convio for review, executing changes as needed, achieving all production process deadlines.
- Coordinate creative aspects and participate in aggressive testing plans and performance audits.
- Manage Digital schedule on behalf of DM and across the National office to assure coordination and a best effort at donor-centered contact strategies.
- Works with IT/Convio team and data services on managing donor/program excludes and file selection for digital efforts.
- Works with vendor and IT staff on audience requests for multi-channel and digital-only email campaigns.
- Create donation forms in Convio for each email campaign
- Review content in Direct Mail pieces to assure cohesiveness with digital pieces.
- Handles special projects as assigned.

Assist in management of email best practices and manage designer.
- Familiarity with current email standards, also in-tune with new relevant technologies.
- Work to design emails that render accurately, testing against all clients and browsers.

Cross-departmental activities
- Coordinate cross-departmental activities as needed (i.e. help with creation and/or design of other department special request email messages)

Minimum Requirements

- Associate or Bachelor's degree in design or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years design/HTML development experience, preferably in a not-for-profit environment
- Outstanding verbal and written skills
- Extreme attention to detail
