Marketing Strategy Manager

General Summary

The Specialist, Marketing, assists the Director by
1)Conducting market research;
2)Consulting with product/service/event/fundraising managers to evaluate and advise on individual business plans;
3)Counseling chapters on marketing and advertising needs;
4)Developing and evaluating advertising creative and media opportunities for the national office and chapters.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assists in carrying out overall marketing plan for the national office that effectively carries out the marketing positioning and establishes the brand. Works with staff to provide counsel on marketing programs/products/ events and to increase synergy among all marketing activities. Identifies new or expanded products/services to improve Association marketing position. Effectiveness measured by qualitative evaluation of cooperation and synergy, as well as quantitative measures of marketing program.
  • Conducts market research as needed to assist in understanding target audiences, as well as for effective business planning and marketing implementation to manage products, develop new ones and increase synergy among them. Effectiveness measured by increased interdepartmental coordination and increased reach against key target audiences.
  • Adapts existing advertising creative and develops new creative and does media planning as needed for select national office and chapter needs. Effectiveness measured by goals set for advertising.
  • Helps develop marketing tools and advises chapters on advertising.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3-4 years marketing position in a corporation, healthcare or consumer goods organization, or agency
  • 2-3 years experience in developing and executing marketing strategy and evaluating results
  • 2-3 years experience in conducting or commissioning market research to define and segment target audiences
  • Experience in product management, including positioning, distribution and sales, in business with multiple products
  • 2-3 years experience in advertising strategy and creative development and media planning
  • Account management experience desirable
  • Presentation and sales or new business development experience desirable
