Director of Programs and Education

General Summary

In support of our mission to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health, the chapter is seeking a dynamic, effective, customer-focused Director of Programs and Education to oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of Chapter programs and services in our 31 county area, build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and engage members of our diverse community in the movement to eliminate Alzheimer's disease.

Essential Job Functions

  • This position reports directly to the Chapter CEO and will provide management level leadership for the development and oversight of all Chapter programs and services including strategic planning, budgeting and program evaluation. 
  • Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:  community outreach, staff and volunteer recruitment and training, management of all program data, management of community needs assessment, collaboration with other chapter statewide and nationally, building and maintaining relationships with health care and social service providers. 
  • Knowledge of or experience with Alzheimer's disesase a plus.

Minimum Requirements

  • Ideal candidate must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's and preferably a Master's degree in Human Services, Gerontology, Social Work or related field and a minimum of five years' work experience in one of the above fields.
  • Three years of these should be management level experience in educational program planning, delivery and evaluation and knowledge of healthcare delivery systems and issues important.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, writing, speaking and management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Statewide travel, some evening and weekend work is required.
  • Position is based in Altamonte Springs.
