Special Events Coordinator (GR MO)

General Summary

Special Events Coordinator is accountable for performance and success of Walk to End Alzheimer's in various locations in the Greater Missouri Chapter territory to meet revenue goals. This position, located in Columbia (MO),  will also implement additional fundraising events that will provide expanded opportunities for volunteer service across the Greater Missouri Chapter territory.

Essential Job Functions

• Execute overall plan for all Walk to End Alzheimer's in the territory to include team captain/walker recruitment and retention; sponsor cultivation and solicitation; promotion and marketing activities; and all event logistics.
• Identify, recruit, train and manage high impact volunteers who will assist the organization in increasing concern and awareness as well as growing revenue through the fundraising events.
• Prepare and distribute communications to volunteers and donors - via email, print and telephone - based on the Association's communications timeline and additional needs.
• Prepare reports and provide information as requested and required; oversee project budgets and maintain financial records for events.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3+ years work-related experience preferred in marketing, fundraising, nonprofit management and/or special events field.
- Ability/willingness for frequent travel across Chapter territory
- Excellent computer skills, especially Microsoft Office.
- Self-starter with outstanding verbal and written communications skills.
- Detail oriented, adaptable, organized and able to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks.
