To name the Alzheimer's Association Central & North Florida Chapter in your will, the following language can be taken to your professional counsel: “I, (name), of (city, state, ZIP), give, devise and bequeath to the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Association, Inc. (Alzheimer's Association), with national offices located at 225 North Michigan Avenue, Suite 1700, Chicago, Illinois 60601 (insert written amount of gift, percentage of the estate or residuary of estate, or description of property) for its unrestricted use and purpose.”
Charitable Gift Annuities
The Alzheimer's Association offers charitable gift annuities, which are simple contracts between a donor and a charity (such as the Alzheimer's Association), to pay the donor a fixed amount, usually quarterly, for the rest of his or her life, in exchange for an initial gift of $5,000 or more. Gift annuities are easy to establish and offer a tax deduction at the time of the initial gift. In addition, a portion of the lifetime payments made to the annuitant may be tax-free. Gift annuities may be established for one or two annuitants and may be funded with cash or appreciated stock.

IRA Charitable Rollover
Make a tax-free gift to the Alzheimer's Association from your IRA. The Charitable IRA Rollover benefits of the Pension Protection Act of 2006 ended December 31, 2007 for all individual donors qualifying at age 70 1/2 or older. However, work is underway thanks to the National Commitee on Planned Giving (NCPG) and Independent Sector to reinstate and extend the rollover benefit in 2008. If you would like to keep track of this legislative process and voice your support of NCPG's efforts to your legislators, go to www.ncpg.org for more information or contact us.
- Individuals aged 70½ and older may transfer up to $100,000 per year directly from an IRA to the Alzheimer's Association.
- The charitable distribution counts toward your minimum required distribution (RMD) requirements.
- A couple with separate IRAs could each give up to $100,000 for a total of $200,000.
- Transfers cannot be used to establish a charitable gift annuity or a charitable remainder trust.
- It's not necessary for you to itemize deductions and the general 50 percent of adjusted gross income limitation does not apply.
- Transfers are not deductible as charitable gifts. However, there is no federal tax when the distribution is a direct charitable rollover.
- The transfer must be made directly from the IRA to the Alzheimer's Association. The specific transfer and reporting forms will be determined by each IRA custodian and the IRS.

The Central & North Florida Chapter is a proud member of Community Health Charities of Florida. Community Health Charities of Florida (CHC-FL) is a federation of Florida’s premiere health organizations that have joined together to raise charitable contributions in the workplace. Employee donations are used to support member charities, which provide research, patient services and or outreach in local communities.
CHC-FL encourages employees to designate on their pledge cards to the health charity or health charities of their choice, and then CHC-FL distributes the funds directly to us. And as members of the Community Health Charities board and leadership council, our agency has a say in the operating budget and administrative fees of CHC-FL. Between 75-90 cents of every dollar received by CHC on our behalf is paid directly to our agency.
If you are a state employee you have the opportunity to support our agency through your FSECC campaign, just look for our agency code in your Florida State Employees Charitable Campaign booklet and mark it on your pledge card. If you are a federal employee you also have the opportunity to support our agency through your CFC campaign, just look for our agency code in your Combined Federal Campaign booklet in the local and/or national section and mark it on your pledge card. If you are privately employed and your employer runs a United Way only campaign, you and your employer can contact Community Health Charities of Florida 877.CHC.FLA7 (242.3527)
