Energy was high at this year’s Reason to Hope Breakfast as more than 420 community leaders heard how the Alzheimer’s Association Miami Valley Chapter has engaged local residents to help the chapter lead the way in ending Alzheimer’s disease.

The event, which is in its eighth year, was held on Friday, March 6 at the Marriott Hotel University of Dayton. Over the years, it has raised more than $1 million for research, care and support. The powerful one-hour breakfast is designed to educate the community about Alzheimer’s disease and the work of the Alzheimer’s Association.

This year’s theme was Act Inspire and Unite. The program inspired attendees to act, so that they could inspire others to join the fight against Alzheimer’s, which currently has no cure.

The audience heard how volunteers and staff mobilized the community to help the chapter reach more people; spread awareness; advocate more passionately for families touched; and raise additional dollars for research. This year’s Visionary Sponsor was Kettering Brain & Spine: Connect with their life-changing team at www.ketteringhealth.org/brainandspine
