Ways to Get Involved
Special Event Volunteers
Assist with the planning and execution of fundraisers such as Walk to End Alzheimer's, The Longest Day, conferences and other events. Committee member's tasks include recruiting team members, raising revenue, increasing awareness and implementing event activities.

The Longest Day
The Longest Day is the day with the most light — the summer solstice. On June 21, thousands of participants from across the world come together to fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s through an activity of their choice. Together, they use their creativity and passion to raise funds and awareness for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Advocates
As a volunteer advocate, you’ll make your voice heard, drive policymakers to address Alzheimer’s and other dementia, and improve the lives of everyone affected by Alzheimer’s. Your level of commitment is completely flexible to fit your schedule, style and skills. Take action to advance our mission by writing a letter or email, making a phone call, signing a petition, or visiting your local legislator. These are just a few examples. Find clinical trials through Alzheimer's Association TrialMatch. This free, easy-to-use clinical studies matching service generates customized lists of studies based on user-provided information. You can easily see what studies you may qualify for.
Community Educators (Virtual and In-person)
Alzheimer's Association Virtual Community Educators are volunteer public speakers who provide Alzheimer's Association education programs to community audiences.
Program Tech Support
Program Tech Support volunteers assist Alzheimer's Association staff and volunteers to provide support groups and education programs through virtual platforms and expand the reach of Alzheimer's Association programs in the community.
Community Volunteer Leader
Alzheimer's Association Community Volunteer Leaders help the local chapter recruit program volunteers, network, build relationships, plan & promote local events, and evaluate community needs.
Community Representative
Alzheimer's Association Community Representatives are community engagers that raise awareness of Alzheimer's Association programs, provide basic disease information, and link consumers to Alzheimer’s Association services.
Support Group Facilitator
Support Group Facilitators create a safe, open environment where people share their feelings, thoughts and experiences in a combined effort to better cope with and manage the shared problems of dementia.
Community Representative
Alzheimer's Association Community Representatives are community engagers that raise awareness of Alzheimer's Association programs, provide basic disease information, and link consumers to Alzheimer’s Association services.
Faith Outreach Representative
Faith Outreach Representatives are trained volunteers of the Alzheimer's Association. They serve as a liaison for their faith community, helping to educate the community about Alzheimer's disease and ensuring that families get linked to the Alzheimer's Association for services and support.
Chapter Promotores
Alzheimer's Association Promotores are volunteer community engagers that raise awareness of Association programs, provide basic disease information, and link consumers to resources. Promotores are traditionally known as connectors, educators, mentors, counselors, peer leaders, patient navigators or health advocates and serve as liaisons between the Alzheimer's Association and the Hispanic/Latino community.
Support Group Mentor
Support Group Mentors provide mentoring and training support for facilitators of early stage or caregiver groups.
