As we spring forward, we wanted to thank you for your continued support and share some breaking news on Part the Cloud.
First, we are thrilled to announce that we have issued a first of its kind Part the Cloud Challenge on Neuroinflammation. The response from the Alzheimer's research community has been palpable. We received over 60 letters of interest from researchers in 14 countries and have narrowed the field to 28 applications, from which we will select three finalists. Finalists will receive $1,000,000 over a two year period and compete for an additional $3,000,000 in funding. We are also excited to share that the 2016 Part the Cloud Gala, which will be held on Saturday, April 30, at the Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park, is sold out. Dennis O'Donnell from KCBS will serve as the evening's emcee and the event will feature a very special performance by singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett. Thanks to our generous underwriters, 100% of all funds raised will support the Part the Cloud Research Fund at the Alzheimer's Association and drive our mission to fund Alzheimer's research with the highest probability of slowing, stopping or ultimately curing Alzheimer's disease.
