Alzheimer's Association. The Brains Behind Saving Yours.

Dear Friends,

As we spring forward, we wanted to thank you for your continued support and share some breaking news on Part the Cloud.

First, we are thrilled to announce that we have issued a first of its kind Part the Cloud Challenge on Neuroinflammation. The response from the Alzheimer's research community has been palpable. We received over 60 letters of interest from researchers in 14 countries and have narrowed the field to 28 applications, from which we will select three finalists. Finalists will receive $1,000,000 over a two year period and compete for an additional $3,000,000 in funding. For more information on Part the Cloud Challenge on Neuroinflammation, please see below or click here.

We are also excited to share that the 2016 Part the Cloud Gala, which will be held on Saturday, April 30, at the Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park, is sold out. Dennis O'Donnell from KCBS will serve as the evening's emcee and the event will feature a very special performance by singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett. Thanks to our generous underwriters, 100% of all funds raised will support the Part the Cloud Research Fund at the Alzheimer's Association and drive our mission to fund Alzheimer's research with the highest probability of slowing, stopping or ultimately curing Alzheimer's disease. For more information on the event, or to be added to the waitlist, please contact Dagmar Schildwach at dschildwach@alz.org or 408-372-9905.

Please know we are extremely thankful for support as we strive to fund the best in class Alzheimer's research and accelerate the pace in which we are able to advance into human clinical trials worldwide. Together, we will Part the Cloud!

Sincerely,
Mikey Hoag and The Part the Cloud Committee

Part the Cloud Challenge on Inflammation

The Part the Cloud (PTC) challenge on inflammation will accelerate therapeutics and discovery of innovative compounds to be used in early clinical trials. This challenge will have a broad and lasting impact on different neurodegenerative diseases by accelerating our understanding of neurodegeneration through advanced imaging and accelerating the development of new therapeutic strategies to slow, stop, or prevent neurodegeneration.

From a pool of applicants across the globe, three will be selected and given $1 million each to develop their proposal over a two year period. After two years, projects will be evaluated, and the most outstanding project will be awarded a $3 million prize to take their project and the field to the next level. Learn more.
