Exciting new Part the Cloud updates
PART THE CLOUD
Dear Friends,
Thank you to so many of you for attending February's Part the Cloud Luncheon! The event raised $800,000 and will allow us to fund two additional research studies focused on a way to prevent, treat or cure Alzheimer's disease. We have started the process of identifying these new grant recipients and have already received 52 letters of intent from 14 countries! 18 of those researchers have been invited to submit full applications, and we look forward to announcing our new awardees soon. To date, Part the Cloud has funded 23 research grants, and I am excited to share some interesting updates from those grant recipients below.

As we look forward, please save the date for our next Part the Cloud Gala, which will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park. It's going to be another outstanding event, and I can't wait to share more details in the coming months.

In the meantime, we encourage you to visit our website to learn more about past PTC events and view videos from February's luncheon, which focused on extraordinary women who are changing the conversation around Alzheimer's disease. At the event we were thrilled to honor Peabody and Emmy-winning journalist and Alzheimer's activist Maria Shriver with the Silver Lining Award. Women are disproportionately affected by Alzheimer's disease — nearly two-thirds of the more than 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer's are women. From the work that we have done with the Alzheimer's Association, we know that examining this connection is going to be important as we continue to work towards effective treatments and a cure. Maria shares our perspective that accelerating research is critical, and that is evident in her longstanding commitment to raising awareness and encouraging funding for science. You can read more about the luncheon and find links to videos from the event below.

Thank you all again for your outstanding support and generosity, which allows us to fund this important research and bring us one step closer to our vision of a world without Alzheimer's disease. Together, we will Part the Cloud!

Sincerely,
Mikey Hoag and the Part the Cloud Steering Committee
