Happy Mother's Day from The Judy Fund family to yours.
Gertrude Jaffe and Judy Jaffe Gelfand. On Mother's Day, we recommit to fighting the disease that overwhelmingly strikes women.
Dear Family and Friends,

Mother's Day is a time to reflect on the women who've shaped our lives. Matriarchs. Generations of women. Mothers and daughters. My mom, Judy, touched the lives of not only her children and family, but of others.

This year marks 18 Mother's Days without my mom. Being one of the daughters (and sons), who cannot call their mother to say, "I love you" on Mother's Day, this occasion can be bittersweet.

But every time I see blue forget-me-nots blooming, and every time someone generously supports The Judy Fund, we tell the whole world how we feel about our moms – and about this disease that took my mother and so many other strong women from us far too soon.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, The Judy Fund has supported the best science to understand why women are more susceptible to Alzheimer's disease. We've funded research to find ways to ensure that our mothers', grandmothers' and sisters' experience with this disease is not passed on to our daughters and granddaughters. But our work is far from over, and we need your help to keep progress moving forward.

On Mother's Day, you have the opportunity to make a gift to all women that will last a lifetime: A generous gift to The Judy Fund to fight Alzheimer's disease.

In addition, thanks to my friend and Democracy Clothing founder, Caren Lettiere, who lost her beloved grandfather to Alzheimer's, you can honor the women who are living with the disease or caring for someone who is, by "rounding up" on your Democracy Clothing purchase. Democracy Clothing has generously offered to donate the proceeds of their month-long campaign to The Judy Fund, to help fuel research to unravel the mysteries of Alzheimer's in women.

Today, you continue to make a tremendous impact in the fight against Alzheimer's. Together, we continue to think about and appreciate all the moms taken from us by this disease, and we look forward with determination to our shared vision of a world without Alzheimer's.

On behalf of the Gelfand family and all families affected by Alzheimer's disease, thank you for your support of The Judy Fund.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth Gelfand Stearns Elizabeth Gelfand Stearns
