NARFE June

As we come to an end to Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month — a global initiative to raise awareness, encourage action and create dialogue about the disease — we are so thankful for the action NARFE and its members have taken to show their support. We welcome you to keep the momentum going this summer! There's still time to join the NARFE Walk to End Alzheimer's® team and go purple — the color of Alzheimer's. We are so grateful to have partners who share our vision of a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia.

'Good' cholesterol in the brain may protect against Alzheimer's
Elevated levels of high-density lipoproteins (HDL) — often called "good" cholesterol — in the fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord may offer protection against Alzheimer's, new research suggests. Study results published in Alzheimer's & Dementia®: The Journal of the Alzheimer's Association indicate that small HDL particles could point the way to treatments for the disease before cognitive decline occurs.
