The Northern Arizona VA Health Care System (NAVAHCS) located in Prescott Arizona provides many services to veterans, including those with Alzheimer's Disease and related dementia's.  Some of these services include:  inpatient (including a secured unit in the Community Living Center (CLC) providing for behavioral stabilization on a short term basis while maximizing quality of life) as well as outpatient diagnosis, treatment, family support, mental health, education, and end of life care on the Hospice Unit in CLC or with contract home Hospice agencies.  Additionally, NAVAHCS, like many other VA's has an active Dementia Steering Committee.  NAVAHCS staff are involved yearly in the local Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk.

NAVAHCS has an active partnership with the Northern Arizona Region of the Alzheimer's Association.  Two examples of partnered programs include the 8 week Early Stage Group offered several times per year and the weekly Friday Caregiver Support Group.

NAVAHCS staff are also active on the Northern Arizona Regional Leadership Council with Kris Wang MSN, Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist serving as Chair and Laurie McCoy MS, Geriatric Nurse Practitioner serving as Vice Chair.

NAVAHCS looks forward to an ongoing partnership with the Alzheimer's Association in the delivery of services to those living with and families affected by Alzheimer's Disease and related dementia's.
