Outback Steakhouse® was founded in 1988 by four friends who believe in hospitality, sharing, quality, being courageous and having fun.  Their mission was to provide high-quality, fresh dishes offered at reasonable prices combined with an Australian “no-worries” dining experience.  This mission is always executed in a spirit of giving.

Outback has a strong commitment to improving the quality of life of each community in which it does business, with the belief that giving should be for the sake of giving, rather than gaining.  The philosophy is simple and is a foundation of being good neighbor.

The opening of the first Outback Steakhouse in Tampa, Florida, 22 years ago started the tradition of giving back to the local community.  More than just an idea, sharing is the driving force in how Outback conducts business.  Each restaurant actively seeks out local groups and events with which to share its food, time and monetary resources.

Outback Steakhouse will continue to have an active presence in its local neighborhoods, and identify and act on opportunities to give back to its communities, striving to make each of them a better place to live.

For the past ten years, Outback Steakhouse, along with Budweiser, has sponsored the Beauty of a Bonzer concert for charity. A unique, fun evening, the Beauty of a Bonzer presents a rocking concert, fully catered dinner for tables on the arena floor and a live auction to benefit Alzheimer’s Association and other valley charities. This year’s concert on September 25th features the rock band Train, with an opening act of the hot new singer Gavin DeGraw.

Beyond just the Beauty of the Bonzer, Outback Steakhouse of Arizona has passionately partnered with Alzheimer's Association throughout the years. Providing catering, support and promotion of events, Outback Steakhouse has demonstrated their commitment to helping the Alzheimer’s Association fulfill their mission.

“We are very proud to have Outback Steakhouse as a partner here in the community,” said Dan Lawler, Development Director for Alzheimer’s Association. “They truly exemplify what it means for a corporation to support and give back to the community. We cannot thank Outback enough for all that they do to help the Alzheimer’s Association.”
