Peter Armstrong, Chair-Elect

Peter Armstrong is Vice President and Partner at The Macauley Companies. Peter is a CPA who earned his BSBA degree in Accounting at the University of Florida in Gainesville. His early career was spent in public accounting with Price Waterhouse (now Pricewaterhouse Coopers) in Florida where he worked with audit clients in real estate, banking, manufacturing and gaming industries.

In his 25 year career subsequent to public accounting, Peter has served as Chief Financial Officer, Vice President Finance and Corporate Controller for both public and private companies in a variety of industries including commercial real estate, banking, financial services, and technology.

From 1986 to 1992, Peter was Corporate Controller for The Portman Companies, a diversified commercial real estate development and services company, which is responsible for much of downtown Atlanta’s commercial office building and market center skyline. While there he was responsible for internal and external financial reporting, worked closely with all financial institutions providing project and operational financing, and oversaw the selection and installation a new property management and accounting system.

With such an impressive background and accounting career, Peter was instrumental in serving as the Georgia Chapter’s Finance Director during 2003. He then joined The Macauley Companies and has financial responsibility for a number of its current and prospective real estate development communities.

He has been a member of the Board of Governors since July 2004.
