Illiquid Assets - Your accountant may have talked to you about the current advantage of donating an illiquid asset, such as a piece of art. The biggest advantage would be retaining your liquidity, and possible avoidance of higher estate tax treatment moving forward. The Alzheimer's Association would be honored to receive that piece of art. We will have until April 15th together to get an accurate appraisal and it will be included as a 2012 gift.
