The Alzheimer's Association Hudson Valley Chapter holds its Research Forum every other year, alternating with the Meeting of the Minds Dementia Conference. This year it was held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11.

The event featured a panel of researchers, including Dr. Rebecca Edelmayer, recipient of the Margaret M. Cahn Research Award, Dr. Yunglin Gazes and Dr. Miguel Arce Rentería.


Dr. Rebecca Edelmayer leads efforts to accelerate the scientific agenda of the Alzheimer’s Association through the creation and delivery of ongoing research education. View her Powerpoint here.


Recipient of the Margaret M. Cahn Research Award, 
Dr. Yunglin Gazes is an assistant professor in the Cognitive Neuroscience Division in the Neurology Department at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Her research is focused on applications of neuroimaging techniques to understand the mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Miguel Arce Rentería is an associate research scientist and neuropsychologist at the Taub Institute for Research on Alzheimer’s Disease and the Aging Brain and the Department of Neurology at the Columbia University Medical Center. His research investigates the sociocultural and environmental determinants of disparities in cognitive aging and Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. View his presentation here.
