ALZ Stars Volunteer Opportunity
ALZ Stars is the premier athletic team endurance event to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter. Participants compete in events such as full and half marathons, triathlons and cycle events while raising money to support the mission of the Association. Volunteers can support the ALZ Stars program by volunteering for events such as expos, race day aid stations, post-race celebrations and cheer stations! Volunteers are also needed in the office for stuffing swag bags and fundraising packets, mailings, registrations and other pre-event needs.
Forget Me Not Days® Volunteer Opportunity
Forget Me Not Days®, a tag days fundraiser created in 2003 by Bankers Life and Casualty Company, is a nationwide event held each June on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter. We look to volunteers to lend a few hours of their time during this two-day fundraiser by going to their local street corners and storefronts to collect donations on our behalf. To thank individuals who make a donation, volunteers hand them a packet of Forget-Me-Not flower seeds to plant in honor of the estimated 5.4 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s. Interested volunteers are asked to contact their local Alzheimer’s Association office. Participating volunteers will be given a distinctive apron or vest to wear while collecting, along with a donation-collection canister and packets of Forget-Me-Not seeds. Donations collected benefit the research, care, and support efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Please note: there may be other tag days fundraisers throughout the year similar to this one but not necessarily associated with Bankers Life and Casualty Company.
In order to become a volunteer at the Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter, we request that volunteers create a profile. This will help to inform us of your volunteer interests and availability.
