Early Stage Support Group meetings

New dates and times for Early Stage Support group coming soon.

Have you or a loved one been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or dementia within the last six months and seem confused about what to do next?  Sessions meet for two hours, on Friday mornings from 10 until  noon. Sessions will offer dementia related education, emotional support and connections with resources so that group members may enhance their lives in the midst of the disease.   These classes are for BOTH the person with dementia and their care partner.

Participants will learn how to better cope with the disease and will receive emotional support and social interaction in a safe and supportive environment. Weekly topics include health and wellness information, research and medications, tools for maintaining independence, and changing roles and relationships. Attendees also are given ample opportunity to ask questions and share concerns specific to Alzheimer’s disease.

Area support groups

A support group can give caregivers opportunities to share their experiences, increase their feelings of self-worth, decrease their sense of isolation, learn from others in the same situation, learn about resources available and receive encouragement and moral support from other caregivers.

***If you are interested in attending a support group, then please call ahead to confirm the day and time.***
