Text Size controlsNormal font sizeMedium font sizeLarge font size

SEPTEMBER is World Alzheimer's Month and PURPLE is the signature color of the Alzheimer's Association. This special month is a time to spread awareness and shine a purple light for the 5.2 million people nationally afflicted with Alzheimer's as well as for the hundreds of thousands right here in our community.

There are many different ways to display Purple With A Purpose and below highlights efforts of the Chapter as well as others throughout the Heart of America Chapter service area! We encourage you to get involved in the events below and/or to host your own!

Adventures with Awareness "Al" and "Alice"

Take your "Flat Stanley-like" characters with you wherever you go! Awareness Al and Awareness Alice are ready for adventures throughout Kansas City, on a family vacation, to your work or school, out with your friends...wherever they can spread awareness about Alzheimer's. Take snapshots of Al and Alice spreading awareness and post your pictures and a short description on the official Adventures with Al & Alice Facebook page. Of all the pictures posted by September 21st, the top five photos displaying Alzheimer's awareness will be chosen to take part in the Best Awareness Adventure Contest. Those 5 will compete to win by receiving the most likes or shares on their picture through Facebook. More details regarding the contest to come. Start your adventure today by printing your own Awareness Al or Awareness Alice!
