JOE AND LAURIE BISOGNO WILL
CO-CHAIR ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION
WALK TO END ALZHEIMER’S® IN KANSAS CITY

Founder and CEO of Goodcents Joe Bisogno and his wife, Laurie Bisogno Chair of the Goodcents Foundation, join the Alzheimer’s Association as the 2024 Walk to End Alzheimer’s Event Co-Chairs in Kansas City. Goodcents is the presenting sponsor for the 2024 Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Kansas City.

Goodcents offers dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, catering, and delivery of subs featuring pillowy-soft bread, hand-sliced meats and cheeses, and the freshest of veggies, along with soups, pastas, and To Go meals within more than 65 franchised restaurants nationwide. The Goodcents Foundation strives to support those in need — primarily in the areas of food uncertainty, poverty, and disabilities of all types.

Joe, known as a serial entrepreneur, opened his first Goodcents restaurant in Lenexa, KS in 1989. True to his entrepreneurial roots, Joe is also the founder of Custom Foods, a leading bread manufacturer, along with Trust Think, an innovator of organic human and animal wellness products.

Giving back to the community inspired Joe and Laurie to create the Goodcents Foundation. Laurie lost her mother to Alzheimer’s disease and wants to help reduce the stigma of Alzheimer’s and other dementia and increase awareness of the free resources the Alzheimer’s Association provides.

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research programs. Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Kansas City will be held on October 5 at the National World War I Museum and Memorial in Kansas City, MO.

On Walk day, participants honor those affected by Alzheimer’s with the poignant Promise Garden ceremony — a mission-focused experience that signifies our solidarity in the fight against the disease. The colors of the Promise Garden flowers represent people’s connection to Alzheimer’s — their personal reasons to end the disease. Laurie will carry a purple flower to honor her mother and Joe will carry the orange flower, a symbol of his support to find an end to Alzheimer’s. Other walkers will carry a yellow flower to signify that they are a caregiver for someone with Alzheimer’s or another dementia and individuals who are currently living with Alzheimer’s will carry a blue flower.

More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease – a leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, more than 11 million family members and friends provide care to people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
