Kent ReylingKent lives in Jasper, Indiana and he is the Director of Workplace Strategies for Kimball (a division of Kimball International) where he has been employed for 43 years!

How long have you been involved with the Alzheimer’s Association and in what way(s) do you volunteer?

I've been part of the Tri-County (Jasper) Walk to End Alzheimer’s for five years.

Why do you support the Association? How has Alzheimer’s disease personally affected you?

My mother, Mary Reyling, was a victim of the disease and my father cared for her as long as he could. The effect I saw on her and him (as the caregiver) was so moving. The patience he had and the love he demonstrated will stick with me forever. Now my brother has Alzheimer’s. I have also seen so many friends and neighbors with similar experiences. We must put an END to this.

What impact do you feel your work with the Alzheimer’s Association has on the community?

Definitely a strong awareness and recognition of the need for people to seek help and to help one another.

What else are you involved in within your community?

Optimist International, Jasper Community Arts Commission, Precious Blood Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and multiple other civic organizations.

Why would you encourage others to support the Association?

To help find a cure for this horrible disease and to educate/help caregivers who need a lot of support. Also to prevent others in my family from having to deal with this.

Is there anything else you would like us to include or know about you?

I have great friends who have supported this cause financially and helped us to raise funds over the past several years. My spouse Paula and I have been married for 43 years and have two daughters and six grandchildren.
